Grzegorz Kozłowski

Born in Warsaw, Grzegorz Kozłowski commenced his study of the violin at the age of seven.

He graduated from music schools in Warsaw: The Oskar Kolberg State Music School, the Karol Szymanowski State Secondary Music School and the Fryderyk Chopin State Higher School of Music. Kozłowski studied in the class of Professor Henryk Palulis, graduating in 1975 and obtaining top marks on his diploma.

In the course of his musical education he took part in numerous school competitions, finishing in winning positions.

While still a student, Kozłowski commenced his cooperation as a chamber musician with Jerzy Maksymiuk’s ensemble at the Warsaw Chamber Opera, obtaining a full time position starting on 1 September 1973. Grzegorz Kozłowski has worked in the Polish Chamber Orchestra and the Sinfonia Varsovia ever since, without interruption.

Apart from playing the violin, Grzegorz Kozłowski also performs organisational functions in the orchestra, being the custodian of the sheet music library.

He has received the Order of Merit in the Service of Culture (1985), the Bronze Cross of Merit (1994),  the Order of Merit in the Service of Polish Culture (2004) and the Gloria Artis Medal (2015).
