We’re now accepting applications for the 2020/2021 season for the 9th edition of the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy, which will include the following instruments: violin, cello, oboe, and French horn. Participants will be selected through auditions. Applicants must be under 26 on the day of audition, have Polish citizenship, and be students or graduates of music schools.
The 9th edition will open with a concert project which will take place between 23 and 30 August 2020. Participation is mandatory for Academy enrollees.
The Academy is seasonal and made up of two semesters. The course starts with a concert project to be performed on Sinfonia Varsovia’s premises between 23 and 30 August 2020. Full availability is required from participants on these dates.
The concert project includes one-to-one instrumental sessions with concertmasters and section leaders of Sinfonia Varsovia, section rehearsals, participating in the rehearsals of the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy chamber orchestra, performing at the concert on 30 August, and group workshops designed to prepare students for a professional career as members of orchestras.
Enrollees will be provided with meals. Sleeping accommodations have to be arranged individually.
In the second part of the 1st semester as well as during the entire 2nd semester enrollees will continue to attend individual classes and participate in concerts and recording sessions as extras.
