Jacek Namysłowski
Jacek Namysłowski is a jazz trombonist and section musician, composer and arranger, leading JazzForum’s Jazz Top polls for several years.
Namysłowski graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice. His first ensemble – the Jacek Namysłowski Quintet – won the National Competition of Young Jazz & Blues Ensembles (2000). In 2002, together with the “Timeless” ensemble Jacek placed first in the “Jazz Standards Competition” in Siedlce (2002), where he also received an individual prize in the “music personality” category. Also with Timeless he placed first at the “Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa” Competition in 2003, after which he recorded and released the ensemble’s first album: “Total Time” (2004). He is a regular member of Zbigniew Namysłowski’s Quintet, with which he has recorded its four latest albums: “Standards”, “Assymetry”, “Jazz At Prague Castle” and “Nice & Easy”.
