17. Klancyk: Carnival (Among ) the Animals

Sinfonia Varsovia’s new home at the former Institute of Veterinary Medicine proved to be the perfect excuse to seek comedic inspiration in the animal kingdom. Join us for a performance in which Klancyk, Poland’s oldest improvisational theater troupe, will reinterpret stories featuring animals – collected from audiences, listeners, friends, and the Sinfonia Varsovia ensemble – with its signature absurd sense of humor. The misdeeds of household pets and perilous encounters with wildlife. Dogs, cats, lovebirds, pesky ticks, and helpless animal behaviorists. Bears on the trails, tarantulas in bananas, counting sheep, and bird-watching walks. Everyone has an animal story inside them, and we want to hear them. A comedy show without a script, where anything can happen – but it will happen only this one time. The improvised scenes will be accompanied by live music performed by Paweł Szamburski, an award-winning composer and clarinetist.
