Little Basil asks the musicians, “What’s the weather like today?”, having in mind not the atmospheric conditions, but the mood of the musical pieces to be performed. Each of the instruments will answer this question in a different way: The cello will lazily bask in the sun, the drums will stir up the wind and call the rain, and the piano will bring back walkabout weather – just in time for an exciting finale! Basil will explore where musical possibilities come from and what kinds of sounds different instruments are capable of producing. He will also play his favorite sticks and invite children to join his stick band. I wonder what kind of musical weather will come out of this?
