The Ambient Zone is a three-day space dedicated to music, relaxation, and mindful listening, created as an alternative to the intense main program of the La Folle Journée (Crazy Days of Music). It’s a place where you can slow down for a moment, take a break from all the stimulation, and experience music in a setting different from that of a traditional concert – without the rush, the excess of light, or the rigid division between stage and audience. Over the course of three afternoons and evenings, the space will transform into an open soundscape – filled with soft cushions and poufs – where you can take a moment to “recharge” and “find your space” between concerts.
Ambient music, following Brian Eno’s philosophy, is music that can accommodate different levels of attention and does not impose a single “correct” way of listening. You can focus on the subtlest changes in sound, let the music permeate your surroundings, or simply relax in its presence. Ambient and experimental music, performed live in the ambient zone, will not merely serve as background here, but will be part of a holistic experience of space, time, and shared presence, creating conditions for tranquility, the free flow of thoughts, and an individual perception of time.
