Wiesław Wołoszynek Soloist

Bassoon in Sinfonia Varsovia since 1986

He began to learn the bassoon in 1978 in the Secondary Music School in Lublin, continuing in 1982 at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in the class of Professor Bogumił Gadawski.

A laureate of many competitions in Poland and abroad.

In 1986 Wołoszynek took over the position of bassoonist in the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, where he works to date.

For his activity he has honoured with the Order of Distinguished Service for Polish Culture in 2015.

Prizes and Awards

  • 2nd prize at the International Bassoon Competition in Vercella, Italy in 1986
  • 1st prize in the Chamber Music Competition in Bydgoszcz in a reed trio (1985)
