Audiences picked their favorites for the Festival finale

We are announcing the program for the Pick Your Favorites Concert – the finale of the 23rd Franciszek Wybrańczyk Sinfonia Varsovia to Its City Festival to be held on 20 June. Between 20 March and 30 May, audiences voted for one of three overtures and one of three symphonies online and at selected Sinfonia Varsovia concerts.

Audiences cast 2224 votes, which were distributed in the following way:

Overture

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Overture to the opera Don Giovanni, K. 527 [7’] – 1327 votes
Carl Maria von Weber Overture to the opera Der Freischütz, J. 277 [10’] – 492 votes
Hector Berlioz Roman Carnival (Le Carnaval Romain) concert overture, Op. 9 [8’] – 405 votes

Symphony

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Symphony in C Major, K. 425 Linz [26’] – 278 votes
Ludwig van Beethoven – Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 [31’] – 970 votes
Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy – Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 Italian [27’] – 976 votes

 

This means that in addition to Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 3, the Festival finale will feature Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Overture to the opera Don Giovanni, K. 527 and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 Italian.
