Kjell Pahr-Iversen:

Born in 1937 in Stavanger. He graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His solo exhibitions have been presented at, among others, Galerie Camille Renault in Paris, as well as numerous Danish, Norwegian, French, Spanish and American museums and galleries. Author of the stained glass windows of the Lilleborg Church in Oslo. First Class Knight of the Order of St Olaf. He lives in Stavanger.

The Warsaw exhibition presents the artist’s work for the first time in Poland.

“I dedicate my exhibition to the celebration of fantasy and memory, and to the extension of the human mind onto the canvas. I have all my life strived for that glorious moment when this greasy, porridge-like matter in the [painting] tubes becomes transformed into a new existence as it happens in the final choir of any Handel’s oratorio; when we all – wounded, sick and tired – rise up and sing”.
