Dance Meetings on Grochowska 2025: Pre-War Varsovian Songs

The dance floor on Grochowska Street is ready for a lively crowd! Everyone who enjoys moving to music will find a dance style to suit them at Sinfonia Varsovia. Over six Friday evenings in June and July, the Concert Pavilion will come alive with live music from around the world. Dance lovers of all ages can enjoy Balkan horo and sirba, pre-war hits with a Warsaw twist, club-style funk and disco, American swing, traditional tunes from the villages and crossroads of central Poland, and the fiery energy of Latin salsa. Each evening of free dancing begins with a performance and a short lesson led by experienced instructors.

Every Friday from 20 June to 25 July, 7pm! The event is not ticketed and no reservation is required.

If you’ve got a tuba, clarinet, trumpet, accordion, banjo and all manner of percussion instruments at your disposal – you can do just about anything. Especially when you add a vocalist who feels right at home in a pre-war atmosphere – think fiery foxtrots, shady polkas, and sentimental, streetwise tangos. We play Balkan, Jewish, East Slavic, Romani and Polish folk music from across the regions – and really, any music with character. We’re drawn to both driving rhythms and romantic, atmospheric ballads. We perform our own original material as well as collaborate with vocalists and ensembles who sing compelling songs from around the world. Our music is made to power dance floors, enrich concert programmes, accompany films and theatre, and thrive wherever people enjoy listening, singing, and experiencing the beauty of music that is both structured and spontaneous. We are professional musicians who defy rigid formulas and are constantly seeking fresh sonic ideas. We like music with spirit – and we do our best to pass that spirit on to our audience.
